About Juan

Born in Barcelona on 11 August 1976.

Juan is an expert in commercial transactions and their taxation (restructurings, acquisitions, etc.), with special dedication to planning for companies and individuals.
He has lectured and taught at ESADE University, Universitat Ramon Llull, UIC, Universitat de Barcelona, Escuela de Turismo, Centro ADAMS and Universidad de Terrassa.

He is a collaborator of the Cukurato Association, president of the Decroly Barcelona Foundation and participates in and advises other social entities. He is secretary and advises several boards of directors, particularly in start-up companies.

Experience

With over 25 years of experience, he worked as a lawyer for the firm Uría y Menéndez for 2 years, in the offices of Barcelona and Madrid. After a year working in Guatemala for a charitable foundation, he returned to Spain and rejoined the firm. He has provided consulting services for organizations such as the Central American Bank for Economic Integration, the CODESPA Foundation, SETEM, etc.

Education

Law Degree and Master’s Degree in Business Law from the University of ESADE (Ramón Llull); he has also completed the Senior Business Management Program (PADE) at IESE.

About Pablo

Born in Barcelona on 10 January 1974.

Pablo is an expert in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and cross-border investments, as well as commercial contracts, structural reorganizations and refinancing strategies. 

In addition, he advises various boards of directors as secretary. Deeply connected to the business community, he was Vice-President of the International Business Law Commission (IBLC) of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA), and an active member of AIJEC Plus within the Catalan Association of Young Entrepreneurs.

Experience

He started at Cuatrecasas and later worked as an in-house counsel at Torraspapel (Lecta Group). In addition, he led the mergers and acquisitions department of Legal Link (now Écija) and, before joining Busquets, he led the Corporate-M&A team of Plana Abogados & Economistas.

Education

Law Degree from the University of Barcelona and Master’s Degree in International and Comparative Business Law (LLM) from the London Metropolitan University.

About Alejandro

Born in Barcelona on 6 October 1981.

Alejandro is primarily responsible for advising companies and individuals on commercial expansion processes and their day-to-day activities.

Experience

Partner and director of the Barcelona office of the international firm SUMMA CONSULTORES. Later, he was one of the founding partners of the firm Lexben Advocats, where he led the International Trade Law Department.

In 2012 and 2013, Alejandro lived and worked in Bogota (Colombia) where –in collaboration with local lawyers- he advised Spanish companies on their establishment in the country. He has published articles on civil procedural law, international trade law, and commercial law in professional journals. Additionally, he has delivered workshops on those subjects for both private and public organisations.

Education

Law Degree from the University of Barcelona. Postgraduate in Civil Litigation from IDEC – Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona. Program in International Law, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Thessaloniki – Greece). Specialization in Community and International Business Law, Il·lustre Col·legi d’Advocats de Barcelona (Barcelona Bar Association). Diploma by the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota (Colombia) in International Business Law and Free Trade Agreements, with special emphasis on Latin America.
